Kids say the darnest things
- The weather was bad, the parade square (place where flag lowering takes place) was freaking wet and so the kids get to go home without having to go through the singing process. I took my kids down the main staircase but had to stop on the staircase and look back as my kids were very noisy and walking as if the class keeps an invincible pet elephant and that the elephant insist in walking in line with them (Dun know what the hell I am talking about, take a moment, sit in a corner and think about it). So happen, there was a window which enable one of my kid to look right towards the parade square and this is what he has to say when he urgently raised his hands to get my attention:
"Teacher Juliana, are we going to stand here and wait for the parade square to dry up!!?"
- My kids were all settled and ready to begin their first voice works lesson that will help them to be more expressive, clearer and louder (this however brings about the annoying assumption that they now have the right to shout their heads off in class) in the way they talk. As the teacher, Mr Philips talks about the three focus of his lesson, he asked the class, when is it that we can be loud. Almost all of my kids raised their hands excitedly. Mr Philips made his first choice by pointing at one child and this is what he has to say:
"When we drink guiness stout!!"
- There was a special assembly and the international dance club was putting up a performance on stage (For those who do not know, this club comprises of many girls and ONE boy). All the kids were seated on the floor and their teachers were seated on benches placed at the sides of the hall. My class happens to one of those closest to the side and so I am lucky enough to sit near them which makes it easy if I need to give any child da evil stare or the stern no voice warning. Suddenly, during the performance, one of my kid turned to look at me and started to wave his hands frantically to capture my attention. I looked at him and nodded as an indication that he can say whatever it is that he needs to say. Since he was quite a distance away and had been told not to move from his seat, he decided to juz shout out his query. This is what he had to say:
"Miss Juliana, is THAT a gay!"
Ok shall stop here for now...there are many maaaanyyy more where that came from....but somehow I cant really recall it at them moment. Shall add on as and when I recall....and yes yes...my job is never boring...
